This photo is of a woman in her 40's that wanted to have the excessive hair on the upper lip removed permanently. It is not uncommon for women who go through menopause to grow unusually long hair on the upper lip.

This is usually caused be the lack of natural estrogen in the body. In a case like this only the long darker hair needed to be removed. Because her body is in a slightly unbalanced state naturally, her body may continue to produce a small amount of hair each month. Usually no more than 15 minutes every month or two keeps this natural growth in check.
